Todt recalled, "Michael hesitated a great deal. Finally, 20 minutes before the start (5 minutes before the pit lane closes) he alone took the decision and moved toawards the car chassis number 175--the intermediate. A masterclass was coming."
He beat Barrichello by 53.5 secs at the end of the race.
