At least, I think that will be their first response. For now, it's as easy as sending a 'read dvd structure - 00' atapi' to distinguish between original and backup. And there are many, many more checks they could perform on the disk.
The way I see it, there are 3 categories of things to check:
1. Disc checks (a simple 'read dvd structure' ATAPI is an example, but of course there are much more differences between originals and backups)
2. FW code checks (see if the FW contains hacked code)
3. Internal memory checks (for example the CPR_MAI location in memory)
Well it depends. In theory, every check can be circumvented as long as the console doesn't contain different hardware. However, there are ways to make it VERY VERY hard for the hacker, next to impossible, even without additional hardware. If MS is smart enough to come up with such solution, yes, then they can use the firmware hack pretty much to their advantage: don't fix the hack yet, push as much consoles onto the market as possible and when there are enough consoles out there, come up with a GOOD solution to disable the FW hack, so people can throw away their backups.
We'll see if they are smart enough But whatever happens, the real goal of the FW hack has already been attained: opening new hacking possibilities to get unsigned code running. We all want XBMC on the 360 to unleash its REAL power
你的D盘跟Z盘有很多的不同点, 我想MS会去检查你的游戏盘,而不是去检查你DVD的FW, 只要发一个命令: 'read dvd structure - 00' atapi' 就可区别D和Z. 而且还能用很多的方法去检查游戏盘.
我认为有3类方法MS会检查:
1. 游戏盘 (读盘的构造, D和Z有很多的不同点, 很易查到)
2. DVD的FW (看有没HACKED码)
3. 内存 (如 CPR_MAI 的位置)
如果MS聪明的话, 可以利用这个机会: 不打补丁! 让人们去抢购主机, 等主机数目到目标后, 才出补丁来停止D盘. 到时人们只能掉了手上的D盘了.
不管MS怎么做, FW破解最终的目标是可以用没签名的软体, 我们都想在360上用XBMC啊.
